Setting up of Goals for Real Estate Career

time to set goals by ming property - fb

Setting up your goals is an important exercise as we begin a new year. It’s always a good time to set yourself some goals and find ways to achieve them.

For a start, look deep into your thoughts and work on how many listings you want to close from now to end of each year. It is always good to start at the end of the year or the beginning of the year. Write the total down in your notes or your personal journal.

From the total number of listing you have in mind, how much income do you want to achieve by year end. There’s no right or wrong answer here. Based on your needs, your family’s needs and your lifestyle needs, how much income is needed to support all your needs? This should be the number you want to aim.

Now that you know how much you want to achieve, you also need to know what is and could be holding you back from achieving your goal. This is extremely important. Allocate some time and think this through. What are the obstacles that will block you from reaching those goals. Write them down. List at least three and you can always add more or remove them.

Why is this extremely important? It is by identifying the obstacles then you’re able to work on finding a solution to remove the obstacles.

If you say you lack of knowledge, then we sit down together to work on the knowledge you find lacking.

If you say you don’t have enough leads to work on, then we find ways to generate leads.

The whole point of this exercise is this. We may not have an answer now but at the very least we identify the problem we have today. Then, we take action to monitor those problems and keep finding a solution for it. I believe, eventually, we’ll find a solution for it. By then, you’d have gained the experience and you’ll be very good at what you do. This is how a novice becomes an expert.

The beginning of the year is always the best time of the year to reset and revise your goals for the year. Learn what you could have done better from last year and apply them to this year’s goals.

We would like to help you in this process of setting your goals. Share with us your answers to the three questions we posted above. I shall post it here again

1. How many listings you want to have by end of this year?
2. How much commission do you want to collect by end of this year?
3. What are the obstacles you faced that’s holding you back from achieving your goals?

Once you’re ready, send your answers to us and we’ll setup a meeting to discuss your answers.
